From the car park there is a short gentle ramp leading to the main entrance, where a set of double doors lead into the museum.

The museum is on one level with wheelchair access between the exhibits. Though care must be taken where trail tracks are embedded in the floor surface.

The museum welcomes assistance dogs and will even provide a bowl of water.

Many of the exhibits can be freely touched with one audio visual display and a new multi-sensory experience for the blind and partially sighted. Touch tours can be arranged through a learning assistant officer, who is usually available Monday to Wednesday. Please contact the museum for further information.
