advent The arrival or coming of something new.
attractions Activities and places that interest people.
canopy An overhead cover to protect people from the weather.
char-a-banc A coach or wagon with seats, used for sightseeing.
embarrassingly Feeling very awkward or ashamed.
essential Unable to do without.
exhibition Show or display something in public.
expeditions A journey made in order to do something.
housekeeping The money used to buy food and other items for the home.
leased An agreement that allows someone to use a building or piece of land for money.
medicinal tonics Something that makes you feel better.
modesty Dressing in such a way that no part of the body, such as arms and legs was on show.
ornamental Something that has been made to look beautiful rather useful.
parasol A sunshade or light weight umbrella.
pavilion An ornamental shelter where people could sit.
promenade A place suitable for walking, beside the seashore.

shuggy-boats A fairground, ride found on the beach, in the shape of a boat that swings back and forth on ropes.
themed A group of ideas that are linked together.
troupe A group of actors or performers who travel between theatres.
windbreak A piece of canvas, on poles, that is placed round people on the beach to keep the wind out.
