Written on the back of this postcard dated 15 July 1938:

"This is close to where we are staying. Tynemouth and Whitley Bay join each other like Stenhousemuir and Larbert. [East coat of Scotland not far from Edinburgh.] We are having a good time and nice weather. Kindest regards Bill Paterson."
