Written on the front of this postcard dated 24 July 1904:
"Doon [down] the river to Tinmouth on Tyne Ferry Steamer."
Written on the back:
"To compass the significance of the Tyne you must take a boat at Newcastle and not stopping until you are abreast of Tynemouth, for it is not until that pretty town is reached that the wonders of the Tyne are exhausted." - Clark Russell.
