Front Street, Tynemouth.

Written on the back of this postcard dated 15 August 1914: [World War I began on 4 August 1914]

"Dear Darling, This photo is the main street of Tynemouth. The castle is at the end which you cannot see. Tell Bella Crammond to write back the next time you see her. Grand weather here during the day but cold night and mornings, but we put our big coats on when it is cold. We see all the boats that go in to the Tyne. Good night darling. From you ever loving sweetheart Jack xxxxxx" [Is it possible that Jack was stationed at Tynemouth Castle as part of the Royal Garrison Artillery, who were stationed there before and during the 1914-1918 war? ]
